Qualified biologist Christian Bachmann, physician David Fäh (Prof. Dr. med., MPH) and Heinrich von Grünigen (honorary doctorate in medicine, SAPS) brought their experience together. Why enter age and gender?

The BMI formula itself uses height and weight only. Smart BMI uses age and the sex selected for calculation to place that BMI within its own reference model. It does not measure body fat, muscle or individual health. Enter your current height, weight and exact age for your own result.
